Ceremonial rooms

The aristocratic world

The exhibition area on the second floor gives an impression of noble life in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The ceremonial rooms are richly outfitted with their original furnishings:
ornate stucco in pastel colours on the ceiling, furniture from different epochs, the impressively high ballroom and the crystal chandeliers, the painted rococo ovens and the family portraits, the two hunting rooms with ornately painted fabric wallpaper.

Since 2012, for the first time, a carefully restored tapestry from the 17th century with hunting and generic scenes gives visitors an impression of a lifestyle that was reserved to a numerically small upper class.
