Getting here

By car:

From the motorway Sterzing exit towards Ridnauntal.
From Meran via the Jaufenpass follow directions towards Ridnaun to Mareit.

By public transport:

Bus line 312 (= Sterzing <> Ridnaun) to Mareit. See here for timetables.

By bicycle:

The cycle path Josef Larch along the stream Mareiter Bach connects Sterzing to Mareit.

Parking:

Parking is available on the large car park in Mareit village.

Two ways lead from the parking to the castle:

1. A 5-minute walk by a rising footpath leads to the castle entrance (path not wheelchair accessible).
2. The 1 km long theme trail “Forest and Water” with display boards and interactive stations leads through the forest to the castle. It is accessible to pushchairs.

Visitors with walking difficulties and wheelchair users can call the ticket office (on the telephone number +39 0472 758 121) beforehand so that we can open up the rear entrance, not normally accessible to visitors, so that they can drive up to the castle by car.
